Dude…Where’s My Car?

Ok for those of you who didn’t read the story in the PD, here’s the gist of it:

A guy brings his $100,000 BMW to Prestige Imports in Santa Rosa for some warranty work. They later call him and say that he needs to put some more miles on the car and bring it back for them to properly diagnose/fix said problem. So he tells one of the guys in the service department, “YOU drive the car”.

Here is where the stories differ. Owner says he told the serviceman to drive it and take care of it since it was Easter weekend. Prestige says the guy told the serviceman to take the car HOME for the weekend and drive it as he wished.

Long story short? Police find the car crashed near Apple Valley and no driver to be found. They contact the owner who says he thinks his car is still at the dealership. Hilarity ensues…

Now of course, he wants Prestige to pay off the lease and get him a new car. Prestige fired their employee but says that the owner showed poor judgement in letting the guy take the car…But wait, he didn’t let him take the car…Or DID he?

I can’t really put my 2 cents in until the truth comes out. But at this point, as out of character as it may sound, I’m siding with the driver on this one. REGARDLESS, this guy represented the dealership and a car owner should be able to trust who they bought their car from (especially a$100k car). Prestige should save some face and have their insurance handle this. Otherwise they’ll end up with EGG on their face from bad press.

Tonight’s The Night!!!

Ok I lied yesterday, there were no more updates. I’m sure you guys managed to get by. But tonight it’s ON people!!! Last Day Saloon in Santa Rosa…All about 80’s rock and cougars. And I’m sure they will be in full force. Pictures to follow!

On A Random Note…

If I hear one more person tell me that things like chicken and ranch dressing are “good on pizza”, I’m gonna cut my fucking tongue out. (And saying it in the comments doesn’t count ya jerks). What are you, 3 years old?!?! Maybe next time ask the pizzeria you’re at if they can put some Cap’n Crunch on the pie. Then again, I dunno if Lil Ceasars will honor special requests.

Bring Back Beebout!!!

Ok, usually I’m the FIRST one to complain about our local “media”. The Press Democrat seems to be run by highschool journalism students and KSRO is just awful for the most part. But I’ll save that whole bag of worms for another day.

I friggin LOVED the KFTY evening news. It was SUCH a trainwreck that I looked forward to watching it like no other newscast. First of all if you read the credits, it seems poor Ed Beebout was doing EVERYTHING on the show. Produced By: Ed Beebout – Edited By: Ed Beebout – Camera By: Ed Beebout. Yeah I’m taking it a little far but you get the drift. Then again, this guy had been on the station since the mid 80’s ATLEAST so no one was gonna steal his thunder. Either that or they just didn’t have the money to pay multiple people for multiple jobs.

In any event, it was always a hoot to see Ed flub the lines almost every time, the camera point at the wrong newscaster or the sound not being turned on and them not noticing. Endless entertainment. I honestly am a self confessed Beebout-a-holic.

KFTY now is just an endless parade of second run TV shows and reruns and I, my friends, am disgusted by it. Bring back tha muthafuckin NEWS! I’m sure Ed would jump at the chance to come back, and I highly doubt any of the others are doing many productive things these days. Hell, they even have a success story with weatherman Bill Martin who is now doin his gangsta lean on Channel 2. Dreams come true guys!!! GIVE THE PEOPLE WHAT THEY WANT! And what we want is a local newscast where the set hasn’t changed since 1986. Kinda like Price Is Right. You don’t mess with perfection.

No, not laughing at the entire city. Just at the crackpot hippy who made a petition to stop Sonicnet from installing FREE Wi-Fi for downtown Sebastopol. And even worse, the 500 morons who signed it. The chick who made it says she’s “sensitive to electricity”. Well I’m sensitive to women who don’t shave their pits and smell of b.o. and patchouli oil. These people would rather disregard science and trust their “intuition” which has obviously been tainted by years of LSD use and a tree bark diet. Here a company is trying to give to the community and they get shot down over NOTHING! What adds insult to injury is that it was initially approved, but retracted by car keying, DUI drivin’ councilwoman Linda Kelley. I hope Sonicnet prevails, but I’m sure if they do, they’ll be called homophobic for going against Linda “The Lush”.

For the Whine Cuntry tourists, here’s a tip: Don’t get into an escalated situation in Rohnert Park unless you want to get shot in the face and/or chesticles.

For such a small town with a low crime rate, the police there sure do like to kill people. I guess it’s the fact that they only get paid about 100k a year. That would send ANY lawman into a murderous rage.

Welcome to Sew Kew!!! I say that tongue-in-cheek of course. Somewhere along the line we in Sonoma County found ourselves cool enough to refer to the region as “So Co”….Don’t ask me when or where but it happened.  Although I was born and raised in this area, I recently had the pleasure of living elsewhere for a couple of years. An area with a MUCH wealthier population but which had half of the snootiness. Now that I’m back, I realize that this area has turned into a clusterfuck of fusion restaurants, wine snobs and people driving cars that they can’t REALLY afford. So hence the blog.
