Welcome To Whine Cuntry

About The Site

Welcome to Sew Kew!!! I say that tongue-in-cheek of course. Somewhere along the line we in Sonoma County found ourselves cool enough to refer to the region as “So Co”….Don’t ask me when or where but it happened.  Although I was born and raised in this area, I recently had the pleasure of living elsewhere for a couple of years. An area with a MUCH wealthier population but which had half of the snootiness. Now that I’m back, I realize that this area has turned into a clusterfuck of fusion restaurants, wine snobs and people driving cars that they can’t REALLY afford. So hence the blog. I plan on covering both good and bad aspects of our wonderful whine cuntry but at this point to be honest, ranting seems to come the easiest. If you would like to contribute just let me know!

  2. Dude, I so totally agree. WTF is with Sonoma County? I was raised here, a LUCKILY got the balls to move away. I came back here and was reminded of WHY I wanted out in the first place.

What kills me is the people who REFUSE to even fathom moving away.

  4. Hi. I moved to SoCo in August for a job and love it here. Just wanted to let you know that where ever people grow up, they always seem to have the same attitude as you guys. The whole “I was lucky enough to move away” crap. And the looking down on the people who didn’t. I moved from Livermore and hear the same stuff. The thing is, I also heard people moving INTO Livermore and saying how much they enjoyed it.

So my point is, no matter where you move TO, people are happy they moved away from it.

Unless they move to SF [or insert other urban city] and turn into pretentious “better-than-you” douchey hipsters. Then they look down on everyone, not just the people who stayed in their old town.

  5. And I called it SoCo on purpose, BTW.

  6. Truffins i hear ya. But believe it or not, I’m being more critical of the people who ARE from here, yet act pretentious. In no way do I mind new people moving to the area. When I say I was lucky to live elsewhere, it’s because I was able to see a different attitude. I lived in an area where people dove Maybachs, Bentleys and Ferraris yet had HALF the attitude of many “SoCo” douchebags. I love this area, I just hate some of its newfound “better than thou” persona.
